Who are we? - The Directors of Enviro Survival Pty Ltd
Michele B. Herson – Managing Director
Hi, I am Michele Herson and like my brother Ira, I was born in the USA and immigrated to Australia in the early 70’s.
I have undertaken many interesting projects in my life including being a professional actor, entertainer, and Artist before embarking on a 20 year career in marketing, public relations, promotions and event management.
I am proud of my past accomplishments having worked as a preferred supplier to the Australian Government and Australia Post, as well as being considered to be a specialist in sponsorships and strategic alliances.
My media experience as a journalist, editor and publisher in newspapers, industry publications, and magazines, as well as the production of corporate material have brought me to the place where I believe I can help make a difference. Over the years I have been involved with a wide range of media; film, radio, television and now the web.
As a professional producer and director I have covered all types of events from every kind of sport and sporting groups including baseball, cricket, ten pin bowling, indoor and outdoor soccer, yachting, sail boarding and motor sport.
Enviro-Survival will allow me to take all of my collective experience and focus it on what I believe is the most important undertaking of my live; to help save the planet for our descendants - the next generations.
This is a complex time in our world’s history. There is so much information out there that could help us to make informed choices but it takes too much time and energy to find it. It is essential that people have the tools necessary to find information quickly and easily. Enviro-Survival publications and media want to supply these tools for people who want to make a difference and find what they need. Hersons Communications website: http://www.hersons.com.au
Andrew Herden – Chairman
G’day mate, I came from the country town of Gunnedah NSW Australia. I was educated in Sydney and went to St Joseph’s College. I later went on to tertiary studies in Geology, computing, management and more importantly Life.
People have many careers in life and mine have included computer science and networking, sales and marketing, geological surveying and modelling the information to better understand the earth.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of getting to know the Australian country areas from WA to NSW and QLD. It became clear to me that the environment is fragile and requires some level of protection. My efforts since have been to discover new ways to do the things we need to do without negatively impacting on our world balanced environs.
I have joined the others in Enviro-Survival to be able to share the information I have learned and hope to bring information that others have learned in a usable way to “close the loop” so we do not have “Re-Invent the Wheel” again and again.
People have started companies that provide services like; power generation, water purification, waste management and a host of other products and services that are ready to be used now but are not known by the public. Here is our opportunity to get that vital information to those that need it. I intend to use my years of computer experience to help bring the information to the public.
How sorry we will all be if the answers we need are not available to those in a position to use it for the lack of a practical up-to-date reference that Enviro-Survival will provide.
Ira Herson – Chief Operating Officer
Hello, I am Ira Herson and I was born in Chicago Illinois USA.
My youth was spent fascinated by all things electronic and my favourite pastime was taking electronic gadgets apart to see how they worked.
I have always had a love of animals and science and as a teenager took a job in an animal hospital.
When I was 18 years old I left the USA to see the world and travelled to Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia and eventually came to Australia. I loved it and decided to stay. Here I undertook tertiary studies in Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science.
Since that time I have had many different positions including; an ambulance officer, computer centre manager, state sales manager for electronics companies and telephone companies and as the general manager of a marketing company specialising in national campaigns, event management, sponsorship and strategic alliances.
Over the years I have learned that nothing gets done without commitment. It is with that in mind that my fellow directors and I are working to bring Enviro-Survival to you.
Becoming a father spurred me on to do what I can to help make the world more sustainable for my children and generations to come. It has been said that we are spending our children’s futures today.
Politics and private agendas have gone a long way to bring our world to the point where we are all endangered. Arguments about global warming and finger pointing do not solve problems. It is only by attacking the problems that we will be able to accomplish our goals.
We believe that we can make a difference by supporting those who can provide sustainable products and services to help the public make informed decisions.
VL (Lee) Furlong - Director
Welcome, I am Lee Furlong, an Earth Scientist, and CEO of Enviro- Survival. I head the team working to create and deliver databases, BLOGS and on-line publications that will contribute practical information of how each of us can lighten our footprint on this planet.
From an early age I have been keen to know how things worked. I was fascinated with radio and television and at age six I had built my first superheterodyne AM radio and continued to build more sophisticated radios and electronic projects at a youngster.
By age 10, I became fascinated by cinemascope and built a home theatre. I grew up in a remote area of Washington State and became the guru for fringe area television in that rural western area.
My parents taught me my love of the natural world and to learn all about the life and habitats of plants and animals in Western USA. I had the pleasure of raising a deer and a bear during my early teens
Having a curiosity for both technology and nature, I took summer jobs as a fire look-out and was a Summer Park Ranger at Mt McKinley National Park for 4 seasons.
In 1961 I moved to Australia and initiated the application of multi-spectral photography and thermal infra-red scanning for mineral exploration applications. During the 70’s I applied these techniques to the environment by mapping the sewage outfalls off Sydney and Newcastle, as well as from coal fired power stations.
My tertiary and post-graduate education was in earth science exploring for minerals including uranium. Finally, at the age of 70, I received my Doctorate in research management as I have always enjoyed pure research and learning to apply new technologies to everyday living.
With over 48 years experience as an earth scientist and practicing geophysicist I developed skills in observing our urban, rural and bush environments, interpreting collected data and checking the veracity of new technologies and instrumentation. I look forward to applying all the skills and knowledge to make Enviro-Survival the number one place to go for real information to help a real world. Personal website: http://terralogiccorp.com.au
